Our stylish home is in the heart of Puglia in Southern Italy. We are nestled in the hills between the Ionian and Adriatic seas in Valle D’Itria. Unique to our area are the Trulli—cone-like stone houses with thick cool walls and fantastic arches. For our home, Tamira has created a contemporary design rooted in the traditional uniqueness of these structures. We are surrounded by ancient farms called Masseria all set in a rural landscape but only 6km from the nearest large city. Our area is characterized by olive trees, beautiful dry stone walls and bright red earth, typical of southern Puglia. Relax in the Italian countryside while swimming and exploring the stunning Puglia landscape, its beautiful small towns, Baroque cities, Greek ruins and truly incredible food.
We are 6km from Martina Franca, home of the world renowned opera festival every summer where performances are staged in the Palazzo Ducale’s courtyard under the stars. Other towns include Alberobello, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica, Ostuni, and the stunning “Florence of the South”, the Baroque jewel, Lecce.
Practical Information
Our home has three bedrooms with queen beds and three full bathrooms. One bedroom, while still attached to the house, functions as a separate suite with its own sitting room, bathroom and private entrance. The kitchen opens up to a fantastic outdoor courtyard and herb garden while the living room has an indoor/outdoor feel with sliding doors to a terrace with sitting and dining areas. The bar and the indoor dining area are perfect for easy entertaining. The pool sits amongst Carob and Olive trees with a stone deck, chairs, sun shade and chaise-longes. Because it is our home and we only rent to friends, it is both luxurious and cosy (and not furnished with uncomfortable furniture…I hate that!) The nearest airport is Brindisi, 45 mins from our home. You can also fly to Bari which is an hour and ten minutes away.
